Televisa has been selected as a member of the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability MILA Pacific Alliance Index, which is comprised of sustainability leaders from Chile, Peru, Mexico, and Colombia.

In addition, Televisa was selected as one of the three Mexican companies to be included in the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index, which is comprised of sustainability leaders from Western Europe, India, China, South Africa, Central America, South America, and other countries.

The Dow Jones sustainability indices recognize public companies for their outstanding performance across economic, environmental and social factors, and are used as a reference by shareholders who consider sustainability when making investment decisions.

Televisa has joined the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, and incorporated the Ten Principles of the UN as part of its strategy, culture and daily actions.

By incorporating the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into strategies, policies and procedures, and establishing a culture of integrity, Televisa is not only upholding their basic responsibilities to people and planet, but also setting the stage for long-term success.

Televisa’s social responsibility programs were recognized for the second time with the “Empresa Socialmente Responsable” award (Socially Responsible Company), granted by “Centro Mexicano de la Filantropía” (Mexican Center for Philanthropy), and “Alianza por la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial” (Alliance for the Social Responsibility of Businesses).

Televisa received this award for its continued involvement with the community, quality of labor life, care and preservation of the environment and business ethics.

Televisa has been selected as one of only four Mexican companies to be included in the 2019 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). With this, Bloomberg recognizes Televisa’s commitment to advancing gender equality and its continuous effort to build a diverse workforce that promotes an inclusive culture.

The GEI is a reference index which selected 230 firms committed to transparency in gender reporting and advancing in gender equality from ten different sectors in 36 countries and regions.

Televisa has submitted its Annual Report for Climate Change and Water through CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project).

CDP supports Televisa to disclose the environmental impacts regarding its operations. Through CDP, Televisa aims to make environmental reporting and risk management a business norm, and drive disclosure, insight and action towards a sustainable economy.

Televisa has been one of the members of the IPC Sustentable (Sustainability Index), of the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (Mexican Stock Exchange) since 2013. In addition, as of March 20th, 2018, Televisa was confirmed as a sustainable issuer, effective from March 20, 2018 through March 15, 2019.

The Sustainability Index currently includes 30 issuers, which have been selected based on their commitment to environmental management, social responsibility and corporate governance.

The facilities of Televisa Santa Fe, Televisa San Angel and Collection Center have received the Environmental Quality certificate issued by the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources (Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales) and the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (Agencia Federal de Protección Ambiental).

The Environmental Quality certificate recognizes Televisa’s efforts to improve its environmental performance. The third party verification unit for those facilities was Ingeniería Ambiental y Procesos de Calidad, S.C. (IAPROC).

Televisa was recertified with the new version of the norm ISO-14001:2015 in three of its facilities: Santa Fe, San Angel and Collection Center. An annual review of Televisa’s progress and compliance to the norm ISO-14001:2015 was performed in December 2017.

The norm ISO-14001:2015 provides Televisa with practical tools to manage its environmental responsibilities. The norm ISO-14001:2015 establishes Company’s criteria to design and implement its environmental management system. The issuing entity, which is also the third party verification unit, was the Asociación Internacional de Certificación, S.C. (ASIC Mexico) (International Certification Association).
